Operation Instructions
Initial Setup
1. Check Components: Ensure all parts are included: hoses, fill hoses, literature pack. Read all instructions before use.
2. Power On: Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet. Ensure water supply is connected and faucets are on.
3. Configure Settings:
- Select water level based on load size (Large for full loads, Small for light loads).
- Choose water temperature: Hot for whites/heavily soiled, Warm for colors/permanent press, Cold for delicates.
- Clean the lint filter: Lift up agitator barrel, rinse the filter under water, snap agitator back.
4.
Test Run: Run an empty cycle on Regular with hot water to check for leaks.
Operating the Washing Machine
1. Sort Laundry: Sort by color, fabric type, soil level, and size. See Laundry Tips for details.
2. Add Detergent: Measure and add detergent to the basket before clothes. Use bleach dispenser for liquid chlorine bleach (up to 1 cup, diluted).
3. Load Clothes: Loosely place load in basket, not overloading.
4. Select Settings: Set water level, temperature, and cycle. Close lid.
5. Start Cycle: Pull out cycle control knob. The machine will fill, agitate, rinse, and spin. To stop, push knob in.
6. End Cycle: Remove clothes promptly to prevent wrinkling. Clean lint filter after every load.
Cycle Selection
Select the appropriate cycle based on fabric and soil:
- Regular/Normal: Sturdy items like sheets, towels; adjustable time 6-14 minutes.
- Permanent Press: Synthetics; preset 10 minutes wash, cold rinse.
- Knits: Knit fabrics; gentle agitation, preset time.
- Soak: 4 min wash + 14 min soak, then drain/spin.
- Pre-Wash: Heavy soils; 4 min wash + 12 min soak, drain/spin (no rinse).
- Rinse & Spin: Extra rinse for heavily soiled loads.
- Drain & Spin: Removes excess water without washing.
Note: Machine pauses briefly during cycles for load redistribution.
Laundry Tips
- Energy Saving: Use washer during non-peak energy hours. Use hot water only for heavily soiled loads. Use cold rinses.
- Sorting: Separate lint producers from lint collectors; whites from colors; heavy from lightweight items.
- Pre-Treating Stains: Treat stains immediately with appropriate remover.
- Detergent Use: Use enough to hold soil in suspension; follow package directions.
- Bleach: Use only on color-safe fabrics; add to dispenser, not directly on clothes. Do not use chlorine bleach on non-colorfast items.
- Fabric Softener: Dilute and add to dispenser during rinse; avoid overusing.
- Load Size: Do not overload; clothes should move freely.
- Water Temperature: Hot for whites/heavy soils (up to 120°F), Warm for colors, Cold for delicates/energy saving.
- Lint Filter: Clean after every load to prevent buildup.
Installation Instructions
Warning: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, follow all safety precautions. Disconnect power before installation. Ensure proper grounding. The washer must be installed on a floor that can support its weight.
Remove Old Washing Machine
- Shut off water supply and unplug power cord.
- Disconnect hoses from faucets and drain.
- Tilt machine to remove shipping strap if present.
- Move old machine away and clean area.
Installing New Washing Machine
- Unpack machine and remove shipping materials.
- Place in desired location with clearance for hoses and lid opening (at least 1" behind, 4" sides).
- Connect fill hoses: Hot to hot faucet, cold to cold; ensure screens are in place and tighten fittings.
- Attach drain hose to standpipe or laundry tub (max 96" height, min 30" to prevent siphoning).
- Level machine using adjustable feet.
- Plug into grounded outlet; turn on water and check for leaks.
Leveling the Machine
- Place level on top of machine.
- Adjust front legs to level front-to-back and side-to-side.
- Tighten locknuts against base.
- Recheck level after first few loads; some floor unevenness is acceptable.
Electrical and Water Connections
Ensure a dedicated 15 A, 120 V, 60 Hz grounded outlet. Do not use extension cords. Water pressure: 20-120 psi. Use new hoses if old ones are cracked. Flush lines before connecting to remove debris.
Connection Type | Description |
Electrical | 3-prong grounded plug; no extension cords; grounded circuit required |
Hot Water Inlet | Connect to hot faucet; 120°F (49°C) max; run hot water before to clear lines |
Cold Water Inlet | Connect to cold faucet; pressure 20-120 psi |
Drain | Secure to standpipe; ensure no siphon-back; height 30-96" |
Caution: Test for leaks after installation. Protect from freezing temperatures.
Troubleshooting
- No Water Entering: Check faucets on, hoses not kinked, screens clean. Run hot water before to clear lines.
- Washer Does Not Drain: Check drain hose for clogs or improper height. Clean lint filter.
- Excessive Vibration: Level the machine properly. Do not overload. Check shipping bolt removal.
- Water Leaks: Check hose connections, fill valve, or tub seal. Tighten fittings.
- Lint on Clothes: Clean lint filter after every load.
- Stains on Tub: Run hot water cycles occasionally; iron/manganese in water may cause orange stains—do not use chlorine bleach.
- Washer Stops Mid-Cycle: Lid not closed fully, or power interruption. Ensure child lock not engaged if applicable.
- Noisy Operation: Unbalanced load—redistribute clothes. Foreign objects in tub.
