- Run a Casual Regular cycle with half the recommended detergent to clean the washer.
- Familiarize with controls: Wash Cycle knob, Load Size, Wash Temp, Fabric Softener (if applicable).
4.
Test Run: Run an empty Normal Regular cycle with hot water to check for leaks.
Operating the Washing Machine
1. Sort Laundry: Sort by cycle, temperature, colorfastness, and soil level. See Laundry Tips for details.
2. Add Detergent: Measure and add detergent or single-dose packet to the basket bottom before clothes.
3. Load Clothes: Place loosely in basket, up to the maximum fill line; mix sizes for balance.

- Normal Extra Heavy/Regular/Light: For cottons, linens, towels; heavy/normal/light soils; Hot/Warm/Cool/Cold; High spin; spray rinse.
- Casual Regular/Medium/Light: For no-iron fabrics, synthetics; normal/medium/light soils; Hot/Warm/Cool/Cold; Low spin.
- Delicate Regular/Light: For machine-wash silks, hand-wash fabrics; Hot/Warm/Cool/Cold; Low spin; spray rinse; use mesh bags.
- Handwash: For small handwash items like undergarments; Hot/Warm/Cool/Cold; Low spin; spray rinse; use mesh bags.

Laundry Tips
- Sorting: Separate by color, fabric type, soil level; lint producers from lint takers; waterproof items evenly.
- Pre-Treating Stains: Treat stains immediately with appropriate remover.
- Detergent Use: Use HE detergent if possible; measure per load size; add to bottom of basket.
- Bleach: Liquid chlorine only in dispenser (max 1 cup); do not mix with color-safe; add after fill begins.
- Fabric Softener: Dilute in dispenser to max line; set to YES; or add manually during rinse pause.
- Load Size: Do not overload; clothes should move freely; use appropriate load size setting.
- Water Temperature: Hot for heavy soils/whites, Warm for colors, Cool/Cold for delicates/energy saving.
- Monthly Maintenance: Run Normal Extra Heavy with 1 cup bleach to clean tub.
Troubleshooting
- Vibration or Off-Balance: Level the machine; load evenly; avoid single items or tight packing.
- Noises (Clicking, Whirring): Normal during sensing or balancing; check for objects in drain/pump.
- Water Leaks: Check hose connections; level machine; proper loading.
- Won't Run or Fill: Check water supply, hoses, electrical outlet; close lid fully.
- Not Draining or Spinning: Check drain hose height/clogs; unbalanced load; excess suds.
- Wet Loads: Low spin speed selected; unbalanced; run Drain/Spin.
- Incorrect Water Temperature: Hoses reversed or clogged; energy-saving features.
- Not Cleaning Well: Overloading; wrong cycle/temp; excess detergent.
- Lid Locked and Won't Open: Wait for spin to stop; pause cycle; hold Cancel for 3 seconds.
