2. Power Connection: Connect to a grounded 3-prong outlet; verify water supply faucets are open.
3. Configure Settings:
- Ensure hot water reaches at least 120°F (49°C); test with thermometer.
- For areas with hard water (over 7 grains/gallon), use water softener or additional detergent.
4.
Test Cycle: Run an empty Normal cycle with hot water to inspect for leaks or unusual operation.
Operating the Washing Machine
1. Sort Laundry: Group by color, fabric type, soil level, and lint shedding; refer to Laundry Tips.
2. Add Detergent: Measure according to package instructions and place in washer tub before loading clothes; add color-safe bleach if desired.
3. Add Bleach: Pour up to 1 cup of liquid chlorine bleach into the dispenser (auto-dilutes during fill).
4. Load Clothes: Distribute evenly, filling loosely to about 3/4 of the tub.
5. Select Settings: Choose load size, cycle/temperature via control knob; ensure lid is closed.
6. Start Cycle: Turn knob to desired cycle and pull to start; fabric softener can be added in final rinse if applicable.
7. End Cycle: Promptly remove items to prevent wrinkles; clean lint filter as needed.
Cycle Selection
Choose cycle based on load type and soil level:
- Heavy Duty: For heavily soiled work clothes; 15 min, high agitation and spin.
- Normal: Sturdy cottons and linens; 10 min, balanced speeds.
- Permanent Press: Synthetics and blends; 12 min with spray rinse, low spin to reduce wrinkles.
- Delicates: Sheer fabrics and lingerie; 6 min, minimal agitation/low spin.
- Fabricare: Lightly soiled items; 8 min with 2-min soak and short spins.
- Rinse & Spin: For extra rinsing of pre-washed or stained items; high spin.
- Drain & Spin: Removes excess water from bulky items; no agitation.
Note: Machine pauses briefly between phases; water level adjusts to selected load size.
Laundry Tips
- Sorting: Separate whites/colors, heavy/light fabrics, lint producers/shedders; pretreat stubborn stains.
- Loading: Do not overload; mix large/small items for better distribution; leave space for agitation.
- Water Temperature: Hot (130°F+) for whites/heavy soils, warm for colors/moderates, cold for delicates/energy savings.
- Detergent: Use HE detergent if applicable; adjust amount for load size and water hardness.
- Bleach: Use dispenser for chlorine on whites; oxygen bleach for colors.
- Fabric Softener: Add diluted during rinse phase; do not pour directly on clothes.
- Energy Saving: Wash full loads, use cold water rinses, operate during off-peak hours.
- Special Items: Place delicates in mesh bags; use extra rinse for down-filled items; air dry woolens.
Troubleshooting
- Washer Won't Start: Verify power supply, circuit breaker, lid closure, and control knob position.
- No Water Entering: Check faucets, hose connections for kinks/clogs, inlet valve screens.
- Excessive Vibration or Noise: Ensure level installation, even load distribution; check for loose parts.
- Doesn't Drain Properly: Inspect drain hose for height (30-96"), clogs, or siphoning issues.
- Poor Cleaning Results: Avoid overloading, select correct cycle/temp, use sufficient detergent.
- Persistent Problems: Contact service at 1-800-447-6737 with model and serial numbers.
